I have been interested in this vehicle since about 2009 when a co-worker told me about it. He was big into Subarus and autocrossed an STi so he heard about it through his Subaru forums that he visited often. I started to follow the car and tried to find every news article I could about it and with each article, the excitement increased.
I will admit that I have A.D.D when it comes to cars/trucks. I attribute it to working at a car dealership for almost 11 years. My first new car was a 2000 Tacoma and that is what I had when I first started and since then I have owned six new vehicles up to and including my 2013 Scion FR-S. I also owned seven beater/commuter cars during that period as well. Yes, they were all Toyotas since I work at a Toyota dealership.
Fast forward to May of 2012. I heard about an event that Scion and Yokohama were putting on in different cities throughout the U.S. The closest one to me was in Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium on May 5th of 2012. (check out the videos link above) When I returned to work the following Monday, I had my inventory manager get his hands on a Hot Lava, 6-speed manual transmission equipped model. I was sold after the first few turns on the course...it didn't take much.
Here's a video of the arrival of my car to my dealership.
I'll keep this blog updated with my modifications that I do and also upload the footage from the autocrosses that I attend. Bookmark my site or subscribe to my blog for the updates!
